Department Overview
The Department of Regulation, Accreditation and Enforcement (RAE) plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and standards of teacher education and professional development in Nigeria. The department ensures compliance with TRCN mandates while fostering excellence in the teaching profession.
Key Responsibilities
- Accreditation of Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) programmes and supervision of programmes of teacher training institutions among others.
- Maintaining MCPD providers' data base
- Issuance of letter of Accreditation to MCPD Providers
- Issuance of letter of proficiency to individuals that want to establish schools.
- Monitoring of MCPD implementation, trainings, supervision and coordination of programmes and allotment of credit unit
- Maintaining of records of all capacity building trainings and their beneficiaries
- Monitoring, evaluation and conducting impact assessment of MCPD programmes.
- Collaborating with State Education Boards and Ministries on recruitment, evaluation and promotion exercise for their teachers.
- Production of training manual for programmes.
- Initiate stakeholders' meetings and carrying out sensitization exercise.
- Ensure compliance to TRCN mandates
- Ensure discipline and sanction of erring teachers through the Teachers Investigation Panel and Teachers Disciplinary Committee.

Responsible for the accreditation and quality assurance of teacher education programmes across institutions.
MCPD Provider Registration & Accreditation
Handles the registration and accreditation of Mandatory Continuing Professional Development providers.
Teachers Capacity Building and Professional Development
Focuses on enhancing teacher capabilities through structured professional development programmes.
Professional Compliance and Enforcement
Ensures adherence to professional standards and enforces disciplinary measures when necessary.
